House removals across the UK
A whole household, from the survey through to the last wardrobe rebuilt in the right bedroom. The commonest job we take, and the one the rest of the list hangs off.
Most house moves that go wrong went wrong before the van arrived. Somebody estimated the volume from a bedroom count, or nobody established how the furniture was actually getting out of the building. Both are entirely avoidable in advance and neither is avoidable on the morning.
What is included

Packing, at the depth you want it
A full pack means crews arrive and everything is boxed; you leave with the kettle. A part pack means you take the straightforward rooms — books, clothes, the garage — and hand us the ones that worry you, usually the kitchen, the display cabinet and anything framed.
Both are fine. What is not fine is a quote that assumes one and delivers the other, so ours names the rooms and the categories we are packing. Materials are chosen per item rather than per room: cell partitions for glass, purpose-made cartons for framed work, proper protection for lamps and mirrors.
Access — the half that decides the day
The recurring problems are the same everywhere in the country. A staircase that turns twice before the first landing. A lift whose door opening is narrower than its car. A communal entrance that will not pass a three-seat sofa. A conservation street where nothing can stand within fifty metres of the door.
None of those are unsolvable and all of them change the crew size or the running order. Where a full-size vehicle genuinely cannot reach the door, the answer is a shuttle with something smaller — costed into the quote as extra hands rather than produced as a surprise.
Loading order
Nothing goes onto the vehicle in the order it comes out of the house. It goes on so the unload comes off room by room at the other end, which is the difference between finishing in the afternoon and finishing in the dark. It sounds like a small thing. On a full house it is not.
Moving a long way
A good share of house moves end somewhere else entirely. Those are planned as long-distance work from the outset — crewed for the real distance, with an honest answer about whether it is genuinely a one-day move. If the destination is abroad, European removals sets out how that runs.

Questions
What is included in a house removal?
The vehicle and crew for the day, blankets and covers for the furniture, floor and door-frame protection where the property warrants it, and dismantling and rebuilding what will not pass a door in one piece. Packing depth is priced separately because households want very different amounts of it.
Why insist on a survey?
Because volume is the smaller half of what it tells us. The other half is access: the staircase turn, the lift door opening, where a vehicle can legally stand, whether the loft is boarded and full. Those decide the crew size, and a room count cannot see any of them.
Will one vehicle do the whole house?
Usually up to about a three-bed with reasonable access. Where the load or the access says otherwise we tell you at survey rather than sending a second van at four in the afternoon and calling it a surprise.
Is the loft coming?
Worth asking yourself before you ask us. Lofts and garages are where quotes go wrong — they hold far more than anyone remembers and they are slow to empty. Tell us and the quote is the real one.
Can the move happen in stages?
Yes. Part of the load going into store while the rest goes straight in is a normal arrangement, especially where building work has run behind. Say so at quote stage so the double handling is priced rather than improvised.
